Fernando Pino – Chairman

Fernando graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Art (coursework), Master of Fine Arts (research), and Master of Architecture. He has held numerous exhibitions across Sydney, regional Australia and his natal Chile. Has worked on art and award winning architecture projects for Sydney artist and architect Richard Goodwin from 2003-2008. In 2009 he set up his own practice taking on small residential projects in Sydney and Canberra. He has taught in both the Architecture and Interior Design programs at UTS and this year will begin tutoring at the University of New South Wales and the University of Canberra.

Elias Metry – Principal Executive Officer

Elias graduated from UNSW with a Master of Architecture in 2009. As a student he worked for John Dimopoulos on both single dwelling and multi-residential projects. He currently works as a director for his own three-year-old practice, Studio Elias Metry, and produces work in retail and residential areas of architecture. Elias also uses Sawtooth as a place where he can restore vintage Japanese motorcycles.

Ben Wollen

Ben Wollen is a current member of Sawtooth Architectural Workshop Co-operative. He has 5+ years experience in the construction industry and has worked for a number of Sydney’s prominent architects. He is a part-time tutor in Ecologically Sustainable Design at the University of Technology, Sydney and runs his own design studio bondi design. Ben is a founding member of Sawtooth and can often be found consuming coffee through a tim-tam in the Sawtooth kitchen.

Sean Choo

Sean graduated with a Master of Architecture from UNSW in 2008. He has worked for Neeson Murcutt Architects for the past five years and has contributed to many award winning projects. He has been active in tutoring both theoretical and technical courses at UNSW for the past 18 months and uses Sawtooth as a workshop space that allows him to collaborate on competitions, research and furniture projects.

Thomas Richard Cole

Tom graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2008 and has worked for architecture firms in both Sydney and the Peoples Republic of China. He has been involved in a wide spectrum of projects including restoration projects in Beijing’s hutong districts, large scale urban design projects, a car showroom for a prestige Dutch car company as well as a number of prize winning projects for Sydney artist and architect Richard Goodwin. Tom started his own practice, LeeshTagTom, this year and has begun to take on small residential works as well as research projects in the urban strategy, infrastructure, and re-use spheres of architecture.

Jorgen Liaris

Jorgen has worked on a diverse range of projects through out a number of Sydney based architecture practices. Before graduating from UNSW in 2009, Jorgen completed retail, commercial and residential works on large scale institute buildings with the architecture office of Burtenshaw Scoufis. Jorgen uses Sawtooth as a creative outlet where he can involve himself in provocative architectural competitions.

George Sadek

George is Sawtooth Studio’s licensed builder. George worked for Broxtan Constructions for three and a half years where he built a number of highly crafted buildings for many of Sydney’s elite architecture practices. In 2008 George started his own construction company called Truman Building Solutions and has since built both residential and commercial type buildings. George has constructed a number of architecture projects designed by members of Sawtooth Studio.
